RetroRemix – unsentimental nostalgia (work in progress) is the full title of this year's art project at Sommerøya's 10th anniversary. Among other things, we ask the question: Can we be led towards a contemporary electronic aesthetic through retrospective research?

On Friday, August 16th from 6:00 PM, artist Matilda Björkne will perform an opening ceremony (25 minutes) that represents the official opening of the installation "RetroRemix".

The project is inspired by the history of the electronic music scene and this year consists of a joint installation that eight artists are working on together through a five-day workshop. This year's curatorial approach involves a process- and idea-based collaboration between the participating artists. The intention is to offer openness around procedural work and artistic processes, through interactivity and audience participation.

The installation will then be open to the public. Sommerøya's art curator, Tina Lindvall, encourages participation by approaching installastion with openness and the entire sensory register.
