Ra-shidi is Olivia Rashidi from Tromsø, one of the newest additions to the national club scene. She has for the last year contributed to the local Tromsø-scene with her club concepts; The Underground Jungle and its more naughty underground sibling Intim Klubb.
Last year saw an increase in gigs around clubs and festivals in Oslo like The Villa via by:Larm festival, Jaeger, Dattera Til Hagen and Slottsfjell and 2018 finished off greatly as she was announced one of four recipients of Insomnia Festival’s Cloud Exit talent program
She is an empathetic improvising perfectionist, resulting in eclectic sets based on feeling rather than planning with smooth and presise mixing and buildups. She describes her mix of tunes as « dreamy and hot, hard and soft» and you’ll hear the influence of ethnic drums and old school gritty noise with genres spanning from deep house to electro.
Ra-shidi is flexibility herself, becoming just more and more daring for each time she plays; she finds inspiration in all odd sounds and beats to move her dancers from static to dynamic.
